Terms & Conditions

The terms that apply when you use BCTI’s website and enrol on our courses, certifications, and training programmes.

Last updated: September 2026 · Applies to BCTI Lagos (Lekki) & Accra (Labone)

1. Acceptance of these terms

These terms and conditions govern your use of the Building & Construction Training Institute (BCTI) website and your enrolment on our courses and programmes. By registering, enrolling, or using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.

If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services or enrol on our programmes.

2. About BCTI

BCTI (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a construction training institute operating from Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria and Labone, Accra, Ghana, delivering accredited trade training, apprenticeships, site-safety certification, and career-support services.

3. Enrolment & registration

To enrol on any course or programme, you must create a student profile and provide accurate, complete, and verifiable information. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and updating your contact information promptly.

Places on fully funded, subsidised, or employer-sponsored programmes remain subject to eligibility verification, entry assessments, and written confirmation by our admissions team.

4. Course fees & payment

Where a course requires tuition or certification fees, all costs, scheduled instalments, and any non-refundable registration deposits are confirmed during enrolment. Indicative fees listed online are subject to change without prior notice. Certain programmes are sponsored, fully funded, or available with flexible payment options for eligible learners.

5. Course changes, cancellations & refunds

We strive to deliver all courses as scheduled; however, BCTI reserves the right to alter course timetables, training locations, curriculum modules, or assigned instructors due to operational needs or unforeseen circumstances.

If a course is cancelled by BCTI, registered candidates will be offered an alternative start date or a refund in accordance with our institutional refund policies.

6. Your responsibilities & conduct

All learners, staff, and visitors must conduct themselves professionally and respectfully at all times. Discrimination, harassment, violence, theft, or deliberate damage to workshop machinery and materials will result in immediate expulsion without refund and potential legal referral.

7. Attendance

Consistent practical workshop attendance and theory session completion are mandatory. Certification requirements dictate minimum attendance thresholds. Persistent unexcused absence may lead to disqualification from assessments and termination of programme enrolment.

8. Certification & qualifications

Accredited qualifications, trade diplomas, and certificates of completion are issued strictly upon satisfying assessment criteria. Terms such as “equivalent” or “industry-aligned” refer to recognised competence standards. Formal awarding body accreditations are verified upon qualification completion.

9. Health & safety

Safety is non-negotiable across all BCTI workshops, partner construction yards, and operational sites. You must wear mandated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), follow health and safety guidelines, operate equipment only when supervised, and report hazards immediately.

10. Intellectual property

All instructional materials, diagrams, workbooks, digital learning modules, and website content remain the intellectual property of BCTI or its licensors. Reproduction, redistribution, recording, or commercial exploitation without prior written consent is strictly prohibited.

11. Data protection & privacy

We collect and manage student and partner records in full compliance with relevant data protection legislation. Your personal data is used solely to provide educational services, issue verifiable certificates, monitor progress, and coordinate hiring support.

12. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BCTI shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including lost earnings or lost equipment. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death, personal injury caused by proven negligence, or fraud.

13. Complaints

We maintain a transparent complaints and academic appeals procedure. Any learner or partner with a grievance can submit formal written details to our administration desk for review in accordance with our standard dispute resolution procedures.

14. Changes to these terms

BCTI may amend, modify, or update these terms and conditions periodically. The latest revision date is displayed at the top of this document. Continued use of BCTI facilities, web services, or courses constitutes binding acceptance of updated policies.

15. Governing law & contact

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (for operations in Nigeria) and the Republic of Ghana (for operations in Ghana). Courts of the respective jurisdiction hold exclusive jurisdiction over disputes.
